Volunteer work

Giving time back to the community, from packing meals to walking shelter dogs.

Meal Packing Volunteer • Hunger relief • Warsaw, IN

Nearly every year since 2021, I have joined a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) packing event at the Warsaw High School Performing Arts Center. Each event is a few hours: volunteers work in small teams on an assembly line, scooping rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and a vitamin and mineral blend into bags, weighing them, sealing them, and boxing them for shipment. I have worked all of the positions at the stations, not just two or three of them.

Triton Jr/Sr High School Music Boosters

2020 – 2024

Booster Parent • Youth music education • Bourbon, IN

As a booster parent for the Triton Jr/Sr High School band program, I helped with the logistics and fundraising that keep a school music program running. I helped transport instruments, and I baked goods for the band concerts and worked the bake sales there. I also cooked, coated, and sold "mouse ears" (small elephant ears made from biscuit dough) at community events, including Bourbon's monthly Food Truck Friday, the Atwood Fourth of July event, and a few other miscellaneous events. I served lunches and dinners to the band students, whether homemade or from local restaurants. I also attended the regular monthly meetings to discuss plans, fundraising, and the distribution of funds for instruments, outfits, and other needs. I stayed involved until my son Braden graduated.
